I think it really depends on the industry. News papers for example, with declining circulation for the physical papers, and online ad revenue declining, many are considering putting up a paywall. Though any business that is contemplating moving from free to payed is gonna have to be able to handle the initial backlash such a move would make.

And holy smokes, I had no idea AOL payed so much for Bebo. You would of thought they would of taken a page from Murdoch after he bough Myspace for 500mil, then signed an exclusive indexing right with Google that pretty much payed for the entire deal. 850million is just insane, and it's no wonder AOL hasn't been relevant for some time now.

Gordon,

Thanks for your input. Enabling dynamic advertising on .tel domains would be beneficial for many .tel owners, and we're currently assessing the situation on the mobile advertising market to offer a solution that will work well for the community.

Meanwhile, please note that static TelAds already work on mobiles showing before and/or after the main page content.

Regards,

Hey Guys

Thanks for all the work at integrating Google Adsense, but i think the following has been missed.

1. .tel domains are mobile viewable, but the Google Adsense Ads are not!
2. When will a proper mobile Ad slot be included in .tel?

Thanks

This is really an useful Chrome plugin for novice user and internet savvy as well. This tool is really saving internet user's time as it displays the .tel contact page if it is listed anywhere in the .com or .net website. great job...

Thanks for feedback, Mike. The "Country" field in the DNS can store any arbitrary value that you put in, so the auto-fill won't always work. We recommend using the full name of your country when entering the address on your. tel page both for visitors, SEO, and information re-use such as this auto-fill form.

The auto-fill form could also be extended to match the address to the standard 2- and 3-letter country codes from ISO-3166. Of course, there are more country-code notations, and it'd be a challenge to match them all.
