JimObalek.tel - My name is Jim Obalek, I am a professional race car driver. As a drag racer I drive the quickest accelerating vehicles in the world, from a standing start I accelerate quicker than a fighter jet being launched off an aircraft carrier. Zero to one hundred miles per hour in about one second.

With the increasing influence that social media is currently experiencing, the internet is often my first point of contact with many of my fans. More important than the contact and exposure to fans, to my program anyway, is the interaction with fans. At a professional level the relationship with my fans becomes a very valuable tool.

I love all forms of motor sport, I love the technology and development; the efficiency of purpose. In drag racing we don't paint the chassis of the vehicle, the paint adds weight, our purpose is to accelerate as quickly as possible, if it doesn't help achieve that aim, it's not on the car, including the paint.

I look at .tel the same way, it is about efficiency of purpose, everything in one place, easy to find and navigate, no heavy paint. If my fans want to see shiny paint, I have a website which they can find easily through my .tel. If they are on the road with only their smart phone but need info about me, they can get it easily and efficiently through my .tel without the weight of the shiny paint on my website.

George Moen, president of Blenz coffee, introduced me to .tel in November 2010. I saw the benefits immediately, it is such an efficient way for people to find what they need to find, or what you want them to find, about you on all platforms. Initially I found the dashboard a little awkward, probably because I am not familiar with the technical side of the internet, but I very quickly learned how to use it to have a productive .tel. I understand a new dashboard is being launched soon and I look forward to it.

I am looking forward to developing my .tel into the landing page of my internet presence. I want people to go to my .tel first to find whatever it is they want to find about me. Eventually everything to do with me on the internet will be on my .tel. I just learned, at a .tel meetup group, that the more links to my websites there are, the higher the ranking with Google. That makes .tel a powerful and easy SEO for me.

When friends or family ask about .tel, I explain that it is a digital business card, all contact info in one place, that can be accessed from any platform. I explain to them that being able to download the virtual card into my iPhone is so incredibly convenient that it is only a matter of time until it becomes the only digital business card. To wrap up, I am an advocate for .tel, it has, in four months, shown fantastic results for my business, and the more I use it the better it gets. For the best results for me, I want the rest of the world on it too, so it's in my best interest to spread the word.
